Scrapbook paper gift boxes

These simple gifting boxes are perfect for biscuits, sweets or tchotchke.

I designed the template in a way that requires one sheet of 12″x12″ scrapbooking paper  per box. For smaller boxes, use 6×6 or 8×8 sheets and adjust the scoring lines accordingly. If you prefer a shallower box, score the lines further apart from the center (I will upload examples of these soon).

Choose a heavier double-sided stock for best results.

Score your sheet horizontally and vertically at 1″, 4″, 8″ and 11″ intervals.

Using the diagram below as reference; cut off the areas indicated by the black shading and make diagonal mountain creases in each of the four outer-most squares.

Use a corner punch or small scissors to round the corners of the outlying flaps.

To assemble the box, make valley folds along your score lines.

Bring the triangular flaps together on the outside of one side of the box.Secure by sticking down the rounded-rectangular flap just above. Repeat this on the opposite side.

Your box should have just two opposite sides with joins.

Wrap your gift (the box will fit anything under 4″x4″) in tissue paper, pop it into the box, attach a tag and you’re good to give.

4 inches = 10cm. This should be the perfect box for my coasters! Thanks Sal….. it’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for.

I tried it – it’s so lovely. Works very well. The box turns out to be a lot deeper than I expected it to be! Only problem is that the round edge punch doesn’t allow me to round the corners, so I’ve left the corner square istead. I could always manually cut a rounded corner but a bit lazy to do that :) . A patterned scissor could also do an amazing job on the corners I’m sure. Thank you for this share!!!
