Throwback Travel: Club Med Mauritius November 2025

I am resolving to edit through the mammoth backlog of images on my hard drive (extending well back into 2019).

Here are images from a brief trip to Mauritius in November of 2025 as Nafisa’s plus-one. We stayed at the Club Med La Plantation d’Albion and had a day to explore a little bit of Port Louis.

Otherscapes: Four Installations by Four Contemporary South African Artists 28 June – 4 November 2023

“Otherscapes proposes surveying the scene of contemporary South Africa through the artistic practices of four contemporary South African artists whose installations can be viewed as ‘scapes’. These address a local context by interrogating the tension between utopia and failure. Siemon Allen, Wim Botha, Sethembile Msezane and Nicholas Hlobo reflect their subjective views of South Africa by embodying narratives that elucidate the complex issues in which the country is entangled.Otherscapes proposes surveying the scene of contemporary South Africa through the artistic practices of four contemporary South African artists whose installations can be viewed as ‘scapes’. I visited the exhibition last month. The installations are immersive and provocative. It is on until November 4th, 2023 at the JCAF (Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation) in Forest Town. Click here to book your tour.

Throwback Travels: Bali, December 2014

These images from our short time in Bali in December of 2014 have been lying dormant on a hard drive for almost four years. That’s the drawback of digital, it’s easier to accumulate than it is to execute.
